Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz is her father as well as Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's parents are both Jewish. Ryder believes herself to be Jewish. She is also half-sister to Sunyata Jubal. Her younger sister is Uria. Ryder along with her whole family relocated to Mendocino, California at the age of seven. Ryder was only seven years old. There was no electricity. Ryder was a prolific reader due to the lack of television. Ryder started to take acting classes at American Conservatory Theatre when she reached the age of 12. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986, when she was 15 years older. Ryder faced bullying during her high school years. Ryder was hopeful that her work as an actress could bring about change. However, the plan didn't pan out. However, she kept working towards her dream. Her breakthrough occurred in the year 1988, when Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful characters in numerous films. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her role in The Age of Innocence (1993).
